B20, w/ B18 head build up?
Hey, I'm getting my head sent off to portflow get stuff done to it soon and i was wondering what is the most i can get it milled (and about how much will it increase compression would u think??) I have a b20b. The head is a B18b and is awaiting a set of Crower stage 2's and portflow valvesprings and retainers. Any suggestions? This will be a NA setup. thanks to who may reply
And to get the B18b head to work i would need to comb chambers to be same as b20 correct? anythign else i need??

not to ruin your ideas or nothing but i'd seriously consider going b20/vtec. my friend had b20/vtec totally stock and it pulled way harder than b20/ w/ ls head and stage 3 crowers, springs, retainers, and ported. you cant argue the fact that vtec's extra 25+ hp stock helps.
either way, enjoy that torque!!!!!!!!!!!

do you think I'll feel more gains from putting a stock b16 head one it (maybe getting it milled and ported) with my stock b20b bottom end then building up a non vtec head? let me know before i waist money into that b18b head! thanks!

From past experience, yes, i'd definately go vtec, honda made it for a reason and thats probably one of the factors making honda so dominant. my friend brandon bought the ls head w/ cams/springs/retainers from jeromy and the sad thing is that i can still smote him with my stock ls/vtec, i pull him top end by atleast a car. And when people say "stay non vtec and just go turbo" why is it that everyone forgets you can do both? so for now i'd buy a b16 head, have it ported, and polished, slap some gsr cams in it and then slap a turbo on. the head with that work would only come out to like 500 bucks, which is significantly less than you planned on spending and i could guarentee that it would be quicker!!! then you go turbo with the leftover cam/springs/retainer money and you're in the 12's!
