b20 vtec building ?
just curious if anyone has ran higher compression with stock rods / bolts
im trying to cut as many corners as i can safely. im putting my motor together and will run it na for prob 3/4 months while i collect $ to sleeve it and basically fully build it.
but for the time being im not happy with the 9:5 or whatever compression its going to end up at. (b20b, b16 head)
so i was going to pick up some pistons and run like 12:1 compression,
i know is better to at least replace the rod bolts with arp.
but how safe is it to use the stocks.
and if i can get by using stock, i heard its not recommended to even reuse rod bolts.
