Default b20 swap, tranny problem

got a friend who has a b20 in his EG, everything went fine except now he has no second gear, what in Gods name could be the problem?

Ask your friend if he even change is shift linkage.

I dont think d series shift linkag will even come close to that b series tranny if thats what you mean by checking the shift linkage or maby you mean check it for bends thats a posability but unlikly. When you say no 2nd dose that mean every other gear works. I know most trannys that are blown its usualy 2nd gear that goes first. Damn people try shifting too fast. Get a Hasport rear drag mount "street" and a new tranny. the mount will keep the motor still while your shifting. This will alow the linkage to be in the right position to FULLY engauge 2nd gear.

A similar situation happened to me one time. Turned out the shift linkage was hitting the end of a nut that secured the linkage. Cause=bent linkage Correction=bend linkage
