Default B20 swap, getting code 43

I know what the code means:

CEL CODE #43:

Fuel supply system
oxygen sensor

Check the fuel pressure, fuel pressure regulator. Also, check for any vacuum leaks.

I have an B18b integra fuel rail, injectors and FPR along with manifold on the b20, no vacuum leaks look present. It also has a new o2 sensor. I am running it with an LS ECU also & Harness. Has anyone else got this code before? It happens after a couple minutes of cruising easily. Also has 96' LS b18b 5-speed cams (in&ex.) If you may need to know anything else please just say. Just looking for pointers to getting this code off. Thanks

what fuel pressure are you running?

symptoms are typical of a bad O2 sensor though. see if you can check it with a known good O2, and possibly check the O2 grounds/circuit.

I had this swap in my DX coupe with the same code. so I'm assuming it isnt the pump. I'll try a set of d16z6 injectors to see if that helps. (same cc i believe)

I'll relook at it. has only 3,xxx miles on it.

Stock B18b fuel regulator, so I'm assuming stock pressure.

THanks all, I'll check it out again this afternoon after work. Hopefully I'll find and fix the problem.

also, are you running a stock fuel pump?

when I put in an aftermarket hi-flo pump, it raised my fuel pressure a lot (10+ psi), even though I had the same stock FPR. caused a really rich condition that could set off the CE light.

When the ECU can not get the O2 to respond as it should, it (ECU) uses a parameter called long term and short term fuel trim to try and adjust the injector pulse width to get the O2 swinging again. If it uses all of LT or ST range (+/-20%) you will get this code.

There is nothing you can really do about it as trying to tune an area of the map to get rid of this code, via fuel pressure for instance, may make another portion of the map out of whack enough to get this code again.

So do you think it may be the o2 sensor? Or am i stuck with this code?

thanks for lettin me know that tho.

You're using a 1.8l ECU on a 2.0l motor, with what appears to be no other form of fuel managment. So even if the O2 sensor was new, you would still probably be stuck with code.

How many miles presently on the current O2?

I need some anwsers, i am having the same problem, except im loosing A LOT of power. Same engine setup as him, b20 with ls ECU, FPR, fuel rail, injectors.

I had this code a few months ago and replacing the O2 made it go away, but now, less than 5,000 miles later its back.

I lose power at all rpm ranges in all gears, the power seems to come back as soon as the CEL comes on, but its so slight that it may be in my head.

Can anyone help me?

Also could i be damaging my engine since i think it may be running lean from this?

same setup, and most people tell me its just cause the B20 isn't getting enough fuel. I have a B&M fpr coming this week, so I hope this will resolve my problem. My motor's idle is still out of whack, so I am going to do this install, and next a new fuel pump since the stock one has about a little over 200k miles on it! This should bring my idle up to normal operating conditions, and help out with my acceleration. I'll keep you all posted too.

That would be good, becuase im thinking that you may be right, and was thinking about getting the same stuff you plan on getting.

But wont raising the fuel pressure make the engine run rich??

Also do you have the same bogging/stubiling on acceleration problem that i do?

I am having the same problem. I have a B20 in an EG and have gone through a couple O2s. I have a B20 with an LS mani and a P75. My idle is kinda wacky, and I get a code 41 and a code 43 off and on. Like i said before, I have used three O2s and they all pretty much throw a code off and on. I wanted to know if that B&M FPR does any good...

Also, you guys with the B20s, how is your gas mileage? My motor is a 2001 and should get nice gas mileage but I have been getting 25-27 mpg. I got 30 once but that was basically highway miles. Lemme know what you guys are getting.

What did you mean by your idle is weird? I have the same setup as you and mine hunts all the time. Surges, whatever you want to call it. Also, did that B&M make any difference?
