Default B20 Head On B16 Block

Can you put a B20B DOHC Non-Vtec head onto a B16 Vtec Block? If so what do I need to change and what oil pump do I use? Any one know

It can work. But you would be left with what is essentially a ZC motor that can rev like its going out of style....but it wont make any power.

Bull **** what about putting a b20 built head like cam and port and polish and stuff and put it on a b18c block. you can put down lots of boost ,oil squirters, no V-tec to tune and the may both be left overs from a CRV-tec

What do you mean built? Built as in crower 404's, hondata, and whatnot? Then you woud be left with......ta daaa..whats basically a VTEC head without the idle lobe. Not only would it still not be as good flowing as a VTEC head (without major port work), but he would be out a ton of money. And care to enlighten us on how his using a non-vtec head will allow him to run more boost?

Can it be done? Yes.
Should it be done? not unless you have money to burn.

You could do so and it wouldn't require much... I would take apart the motor as you will have to tap and plug the VTEC oil feed in the B16A block... You could use the stock oil pump as it has less to support but if you go back to running a nonVTEC ECU then swap a nonVTEC water pump on there as your motor will be working in a lower rpm range... Sorry, but to me this is a stupid idea... Tuning a nonVTEC motor isn't any easier than a VTEC motor so there's no benefit there... Also who want's to turn up the boost with stock pistons/rods... Yea the compression is going to go down somewhat as you gain 2.3cc's with the nonVTEC head but you're still working with cast parts... Overall I agree with notstock93 Just my $0.02
