The CRV (B20b) crank is the same as an LS crank. The 2.0l displacement comes from boring the LS block to 84mm instead of 81

so that explains the b20's sleeve brittleness? can i safely bore the ls block to 84mm and run boost?(8-14psi)

all in the tuning my friend. b20 sleeves aren't glass, but they are weaker

Only sleeving it... NO way on stock sleeves... Wouldn't even try it for all motor... Send it out to GE if you are looking into sleeving As everyone as else has said internally the only difference between the B18A/B and B20B/Z are the pistons and bore... Both have the 89mm crank and PR4 (5.394in) rods... Good Luck

so then b18a blocks arent the same as b20's since the ls sleeves cant be bores to 84mm like the b20's. the b20 block's sl;eeves are different then the b18a.

That's it, the B18A/B and B20B/Z are made from the same cast but are machined with different sleeves from the factory. People say that the B20's sleeves are weak and they are compared to other factory sleeves but out of all the CRVTEC's i've seen/built there's never been a problem with them cracking... Most of my friend's have been running their's for a lil over a year now, (they all drive pretty relaxed on the street, then race every weekend during racing season) All have a static compression ranging from 11.5-12.5:1 and rev anywhere from 8400-9000rpm+ Get a B20 and you'll have a good start if you want a inexpensive 2.0L motor, if you got the money sleeve it... Just my $0.02
