b20 build
i just bought a b20b motor as my next build for my hatch from jdm engine depot in kearny nj. great people to deal with. anyways i just got done with stripping the long block from stuff i know im not going to use before i drop the motor in. like the ps pump and the ac compressor.
my first question: will my 2000 gsr engine harness plug up perfectly with my new b20 as in fuel rail and everything? on the head of the b20 its stamped 0/0 so i'm assuming its a 2000 b20b (also has the knock sensor for the higher compression, and my gsr motor was also a 00)
second: by looking at the length of the exhaust manifold it looks like its not going to bolt up to my existing exhaust system length. so i was wondering if my gsr header would both right up to my b20b longblock? i know it prob would fit but i just want to make sure before i go and remove the manifold off my b20.
also the IM on the b20 is extremly huge so i removed it and i'm going to use my buddys 94 ls manifold. now i want to know do i use the fuel rail off the ls or would it make a differnce to use the one off my gsr?
also will all my motor mounts from my gsr motor bolt up fine to my new motor?
i'm going to be using the whole b20 long block with a p75 ecu until i get my gsr head worked on a little before i go b20vtec.
i dont want to do anything crazy with this motor b/c it is my dd but these are my plans for my build so far
-stock 00 b20b block
-00 gsr head milled to create a flat surface with new valves springs and retainers ( which would you recommened to have a good valve to piston clearance?)
- aebs manifold
- dc sport 4-1 header
- jdm itr tb 65mm to match manifold.
- i'll either use my stock gsr cams or just get a itr intake cam.
-chipped p28 using chrome
-gsr tranny with stock clutch/flywheel
- walboro 190 fuel pump
- arp head studs
- arp rod bolts
- golden eagle ls/vtec kit using oem head gasket
how much power an i'm looking to have with that setup. again i need reliability b/c this is my dd but i would also like a little more power for the track days.
any input/ help with my build is greatly appriciated
