Default B18C5 bottom end with B16A head

is this a good idea? anyone have any idea's of what the compression ratio might be with this set up and JDM ITR pistons? im debating between this or sleeving the bottom end and boring it out to 2.0L.

do you have a type r motor or sumthin or jus the block, cuz a type r head is pretty much a b16 head. not only that, type r head comes wit the best b-series lost motion assemblies and a better valvetrain.

i wish i had a type-r motor. i have a B16A, but i'll be rebuilding the head over the summer with skunk 2 valves, valve springs, retainer's, and stage 2 cams. thats why i want the B18C5 bottom end. i forgot to mention that if i get the C5 bottom end ill be using JDM ITR piston's that are .25mm over.

The compression ratio will be the same as the itr. You just wont have the better valves and valvetrain as mentioned.

Nothing wrong with it at all, I've been running the B16 head on my B18c5 block for a while, and it's been able to pull on ITRs on the highway. (My engine is in an eg, so I weigh a ton less) but still, like has been said previously, it's the exact same head, just a little more port work done I believe, and the lost motion assemblies are better.

I am pulling 186 HP with the basic bolt on's with the b16a head and the ITR block.
I have a ITR intake cam, GSR exhaust cam, ITR Valve springs and retainers, skunk2 cam gears, skunk2 intake manifold and a FPR. The head was milled 10, not sure what measurement you use, but you get the Idea.

Great Set up and less money.
