B18C using a lot of oil? i need help...
i bought a 94 or 95 JDM B18C off of HondaMotors online about 3 months ago and about two weeks ago it started burning a lot of oil. like a half a quart a week.
the car does smoke a little bit, but we think it's fuel and not oil that's causing this. it smells like fuel and the smoke is black. the engine runs real good and is really strong so we can't figure out why it's using oil. supposedly it has 34K miles on it (that's what HMO told me).
there is a small leak by the pressure solenoid next to the head, but it isn't leaking enough to use all this oil.
can you help me out and tell me what you think it might be?
thanks.

no, i haven't done a compression test yet. i making some phone calls today so hopefully i can find some place to do it this week.
HMO says that they do a compression test to every engine before they ship them out, so i'm guessing my engine should be alright... unless they lied?
also, i drove all the way out to carlisle a few week ago which is a 4 hour drive doing 80 mph on the turnpike and i didn't use any oil at all. once i start doing some stop and go driving, i use oil.
