Default B18B Spring Install height Incorrect? - Help!

I have a 98 B18B engine i am having rebuilt including the entire valve train. I bought all of the components from Ferrea for my engine. When my builder went to install the springs, he was getting a spring install height of 1.338 when it should be 1.437 according to ferrea and Honda. I know he did a angle grind on the head, but what could cause this? My head has P75-2 stamped on it, is this the original head for my motor? Is 1.437 the correct spring install height? Also, when he puts the Honda valvtrain back in it also measures 1.338 give or take. Could the valve not be seating correctly do to his angle grind? Or what else could be wrong? Please help! Thanks

Every time you cut the valve seats, it will sink the valve into the head and increase install height, not decrease it.

The only other factors are the valve seat, retainer, and valve stem length.
