Default B18a1 timing question

So i just replaced the head gasket on my b18a1. I'm now in the process of putting on the timing belt. Well it's not getting any tension..new timing belt, tensioner and spring. I turn the motor over with the cams set, the timing belt gets tight and then loose...i've been ****ing with this thing for hours and cant seem to figure it out ugh. Any suggestions? thanks.

On my LS I have never had the tensionor put enough tension on the belt by simply turning the engine over a few times CCW. I usually turn the engine over to the spot where I have the most tension on the front and backside of the belt, then reach a pair of needle nose pliers in and pull on the arm of the tensionor and while pulling on it tighten the 14mm bolt.

I don't like doing it but its the only way for me to get enough tension on the belt. Just don't get it to tight because that will lead to other problems.

BTW, your screen name is disgusting..just sickening.
