Default B18A Tranny with B16A2 Motor?

Is it possible to do this and what are the disadvantages as opposed to staying with the B16A2 Transmission?

Can be done, and as far as disadvantages the B16 tranny has shorter/closer gearing as opposed to the B18A tranny. So going with the B18A tranny would give you longer gears....meaning ----> slower

That same setup with the b16 tranny would probably do a 14.2 or better. Long gears suck, and 14.7 isn't really fast this day and age.

Highly doubtful. An LS with increased compression does not equal a GSR.

If he really ran a 14.7 with the ls tranny then he could. If...

I run an LS tranny with my B16. No torque + long gears = high revs to go anywhere. Its not too bad- and I get killer gas mileage- but I wish I had the b16 short gears and an LS 5th.

But yes, it can be done. It just wont be as quick.
