Default B18A help

ok i got this e-mail today from a guy looking for some help with is b18a motor....thanks guys

heres the question:

I recently blew up my B18A motor and called a place for a newe one when I got there the korean guy told be he had a b18b motor and htat it was the same. I later came to find that it realy isn't I was told I couldn't install it with out an ecu which he didn't sell me with the motor. I called the sales place back he told me to use the Intake off of my old motor and a wireharness from it to. so now my prob is that not all the connections match and there is a sensor on the intake side of the block right next to the oil filter that isn't on the new block.

Now I found a way to use my wiring harness but the only problem is that sensor that isn't on the new block will my car run messed up with out having it connected, I un bolted it and it is a water temp gauge will it affect the way the car runs since it's not on the new block.

The sensor youre talking about is the knock sensor (its green).
The newer (94' and up) non-vtec motors have knock sensors.

Your stock B18A ECU doesnt use knock sensing so you wouldnt have to plug anything to that green ting.
