Default b18 swap no start

I have had a b18b1 in my 94 honda civic, I recently have swapped a b18a1 into the car. I have changed the distributor and the intake manifold for the plugs to fit from the other harness. I am using the stock ECU from the b18a1 motor. It tries and tries but it just will not start. I have had many different people look at it and they just don't know. Could anyone help me out?

It is getting fuel and spark, the thermostat is good, and I have tried to time it but everything only goes one way I don't really understand it. I can't get the distributor to the #1, would it being the b1 distributor have something to do with it.

Your car is obd1 if you put in a obd-0 ecu and obd1 dizzy. not gonna work.

the obd dizzy has to be of same obd as the ecu.

you can still use your b18b1 manifold, dizzy. b18b1 is obd1 depending on year!

hope this makes sense.

short story if you have 94 civic with b18a1 motor you need b18b1 harness,b18b1 ecu,b18b1 dizzy.

if your sure you have spark and fuel it could still be your ecu causing the injectors not to pulse!!!!

mechanical timing off or very low compression in all 4 cylinders not alowing air, fuel to combust

I have read that the 96 distributor that I have is OBD2 and I need a 94-95 b18b1 distributor for it is OBD1 and is the only interchangeable on for the 92 b18a1 motor. So ill try that and get back everyone and let you know it that works.

it doesn't matter which distributor you use between obd2 and obd1. they're the same as far as sensors go. shot in the dark, but are your wires in the correct order?

that is false you cant ignite a 0bd1 distributor with a obd2 ecu and you cant do it with a obd0 ecu.

HAS TO BE THE SAME OBD

you are mistaken with the obd1 and obd2. the plugs are different, but the distributors work the same.

so your saying he can use a obd0 ecu in a obd1 car and it will run? no it wont.

yes you can use obd1 to obd0 jumper at ecu and rewire the plugs to be obd0 connectors but even then the wires are different!!!!!

been there done that!!!

OP if you put on the obd1 b18b1 dizzy and your stock ecu it will fire right up.

as for the plugs on the intake manifold they are exactly the same connections and all the sensors transfer the same information to the ecu the same way.

now if you had a 1989-1991 civic with the dpfi system then it would be different story.

turn the crank until it is TDC(top dead center),meaning piston #1 is all the way up.

there are two marks on the camgears when the arrows are both facing up.you need to have them lined up with each other.their marks should line up with the top of the head, and with each other.

put your dizzy in,it will only fit in correctly one way.take the cap off and make sure the metal tip of the rotor is facing #1 cyl in the dizzy.

firing order

try it again.sounds like my first time trying it lol.
