Default B17 Crank and VTEC Indicator

Hi all, im a new member to honda-tech and have always read posts in this forum with great interest. I find honda-tech a great technical resource..

I have 2 questions:
1. Can a B17 crank b fitted in2 a b20 block?
2. Is it possible to connect a bulb or light to the VTEC solenoid, so as to indicate when vtec is activated? If so, any ideas?

1. yes but machining will need to be done, the b20 crank has a 89mm stroke vs the 87.2 i cant remember the exact number like that on the gsr.
2. yes you can wire it to a light like your CEL and there are how toos on the search

-you can bolt in the crank but youll need custom made rods
-and as everyone said you can wire a LED to tell you when vtec kicks in

Thanks for the replies guys,
I thought B17 crank is 81.4mm..
Then i guess will just get b16 crank for the B20.
I am looking to build a B20 with a rod / stroke over 1.7:1 so as to lower piston speed on the 89mm stock crank, looking to build a 9500+rpm N/A big bore monster.

I currently own a 2000 EK B20VTEC Turbo with arp.. dartons .. wiseco .. eagle etc etc..
454whp at 1.5bar (+-23psi) Turbonetics T3/T4 60-1

Thanks again knew i would get a response : )
