Default B16B with AN-R header dyno

Dynoed the car today. B16B with J's intake, AN-R header, Buddy Club Spec II exhaust and Feel's chipped P28. Everything else is stock with no tuning.

lol... I don't think they like people linking off their site.

Strong motor. Nice hp and the tq is good for a 1.6.

nice numbers but thats one crazy torque jump.

hopefully you got a silencer with that B.C. exhaust

It's whp. The header makes insane power.

hrmmm

Well an itr with sms or hytech header (bench marks for high hp headers)
only do 180-190 with a stock engine, cam gears, hondata, high flow exhaust

I still dont know how you are getting soo much power out of your header

not saying I dont believe you, just I have never heard of a b16 making so muchpower that is pretty much bone stock

is this the header you have?

If thats the truth I might just have to buy 1 of those headers for myself.
Very impressive #'s

Yes, that's the header. Both me and the guy running the dyno were suprised. I was expecting 160-165 at the wheels. Maybe 170.

EG hatch. Neither power steering nor AC will fit with this header.

not tring to flame but i agree with Bob-DC2 those are some crazy hp numbers for an almost stock b16. hell HCI only got 176 whp with
crane stage1 cams, hondata, 67mm throttle body, modified intake manifold, apexi header, custom 2.5 exhaust and the head was decked .035 .If your getting 184whp then put me down for one and ill save a lot of money.

Take it as you will. You're more than welcome to call up the dyno shop listed on the graph and ask them what my numbers were like. I could care less if you guys think I'm bullshitting you or not, I just thought you might like to see the kind of numbers that a B16B produces. This is the first dyno graph I've seen of a B16B so I figured I'd share.

hahah - thats HCI..!

anyways, nice #'s Ryan...exactly what I was looking for (diff. motor) but basically I wanted proof that AN-R headers DO make power!

Interesting, although without a baseline run on the same dyno (preferably, though not necessarily, on the same day), there is virtually no way of knowing how much power the modifications actually made.

I don't think anyone is flaming you, but when hundreds (or thousands) of people modify this engine more then you, and make less power... it just seems, suspicious. It *is* really hard to believe there's that much gain due *only* to that one component.

*Especially* if it's a large diameter header which will hurt the low end and only help the very high (>7000rpm) end.

No flaming, just being objective. Like someone said, a comparison run would have to be done without the header and I know that's not easy, but still.....

The only thing we know is that his B16B motor made 184.1 whp and 123.9 lbs ft torque.

wow, check this out, it makes almost exact same power/torque as roger foo's b16a w/ ITR cams and CTR pistons... hmm, can you say poor man's CTR?

That is NOT whp. I had my car dynoed there. Its a dynopack not a dynoJET. You take your rims off to connect it to the dynapack through the hubs. How can it be WHEEL horsepower when your wheels aren't even on there? Its at the HHP or Hub Horse Power

edit: not shown on your graph cause it is cut off, but it says "flywheel power graph" and "flywheel torque graph".

I didn't know that the new RSX Type S only makes 170 at the crank.

It says flywheel but its at the wheels. Attaching to the hubs just gets rid of the variance in wheel diameter. Still measures at the wheels.

Yes I know, but at the same time you are taking off a substantial amount of rotational weight that the car must spin on a normal dynojet. Dyno your car on a dynojet and i bet it will be lower.

Wouldn't it be logical to think that the car would make MORE hp with the wheels off the car?
