Type R tranny will fit, just put it on. Why would you want to put a Type R PCM and harness in?

I would use your harness and rape the Type R harness (only if its incomplete, if it is completely intact, sell it.) or another harness for clips. I would suggest staying OBD1 because you can do a lot more tuning wise than you can with a locked up OBD2 PCM, a P08/P28 would be a good choice, along with a jumper harness unless you have the tools to back PCM pins out and reorganize them in a OBD1 clip.

Transplanting a wire harness into another car is pointless to me, unless the damn car caught on fire or something. There is very little difference between a Type R harness and any other OBD2 Honda VTEC harness.....
