Default B16a2 timing belt sprocket question

So I was removing crank pulley and timing belt sprocket (think that's the name) to replace my oil pump but while removing sprocket this piece broke off... Is this piece necessary will I need a new sprocket? Or will I be ok without it?

Forgot to mention I won't be running crank sensor since this motor is going into my 93 hatch
