B16a2 not starting Pls Help
I redid my b16 and now i cant get it to start. first crank it actually started right up but died within a few seconds. once in awhile it will run for 3-4 seconds after it dies off it wont start again
all stock other then this:
525cc Injectors
Chipped P28 ( i ran this ecu in the past on my boosted motor, but it should be able to at least idle a all motor application i would expect)
Re-calibrated TPS
plug wires are pretty new less then 1 year old
brand new spark plugs
Tested:
Checked for spark i did have spark but not sure if theres anyway to test strength of spark
compression test alll cylinders reading about 180
There is pressure in the fuel rail dont have an exact number but definetly has pressure
Re-checked my T Belt timing its dead on
need to test ECU but dont have any friends with a B Series
pls any input will be appreciated i need to get this thing started
TY

check crank sensor gap and also if its start up for a few seconds then dies you may want to check the IAC either clean it out or tap it with a wrench IAC's can get stuck and tapping them can get them working again. its worth a shot and if it is the IAC then i would replace it. good luck.
update: will start and will also rev up when i open throttle after i dump gas into intake mani. I pulled my fuel rail and i visually see gas squirting out all 4 injectors. also i just double checked ecu pinouts injectors to verify they are firing in correct order. any ideas what could be the problem?
my next test is going to get fuel pressure tester right now.

usuing a walbro 255 and getting over 100 lbs fuel pressure i think thats causing the problem, used a test distributor and its the same. I am able to get it to idle but wont drive in gear nor can i rev the motor for more then 4 secs in neutral it starts dying. used a fuel tester to check pressure, i get 40 lbs pressure on a running civic with same tester
Has to be either a main function sensor (map/tps/like wise) or timing, fuel, compression, spark all in correct order, that is all an engine needs to run.
was thinking it could be my map but that dosent explain why my fuel pressure is so high, i have extra map sensors already tried another one but i can try some more to see if it helps

Wait you have 100psi at fuel rail? Oem rail/ service port setup for testing?
If so thats your problem. You have bad fuel pressure regulator. From my PERSONAL exp (not as much as some here but good amount) i have seen at/near 55-60 psi starts causing issues. Now add the fact your running 525c inj that is *** LOAD of fuel being sprayed into chambers. More than engine can handle to burn.
No need to try another map never seen 2 bad at same time w/same results. Its a simple pressure resistor type sensor.
Also get your hands on a stock civic computerand try that, ANY OBD MATCHING ecu will start/idle any car (provided not j/k series)

tested at fuel filter which is the proper way i believe i couldn't find any test port on my b16 rail also i did this test on a fuel filter on a crv and got the proper 40 lbs fuel pressure reading. I agree with you it being the fpr i did try another one with no luck but they could both be bad as neither one is new. I am going to a aftermarket FPR. Dont really think its the ECU though
