Default b16a2 compression test

okay i did a compression test on my car today and i got(starting from the dizzy) 150, 160, 150,160 is this the right compression. if not what are the correct compression?

well the good thing is the cylinders are only within 10 psi of each other, but the overall numbers are low. not sure of the average for a b16 off the top of my head, but my old b18a had 150's across.

did you do the test with the engine warmed up and the throttle wide open?

no it was not open wide. and the car was warm.

ok, try it again with the gas pedal all the way down or manually open the throttle body all the way. let us know what you get.

okay i'll try tomorrow, its dark now. also i have this posted in the 92-00 civic forum and someone said its 250 is that even close to right?

i've heard of it being anywhere from 220 to 250. anything over 200 is probably good but don't quote me on that as i've never owned a b16.

Does the car seem likes it lacks power? Is that why you did a compression test?

well you didnt have the TB open when you did it so the numbers are going to show low i am pretty sure...i am pretty sure i did the same on my car when i did a compression check.... good luck man

the first time i ever did a comp. test i did the same thing and left the the throttle plate closed, i just don't remember how much lower it read than when i did it right.

okay thanks it redid it and the results was great.190-200 all of them.
