b16a trouble starting up sometimes
b16a trouble starting sometimes main relay is fine it clicks everytime an can hea the fuel pump prime ! now i have a kill switch ran to my fuel pump but nva gave me a problem recently i go to start the car shell start almost stall then smooth out an idle normal quickly an the idle normal but as time goes on its getting worste but sometimes it doesnt do it at all an the sometimes is when its cold but if warm it does this only when starting no cel runs fine compression was 189/180/189/180 now i come to relize when turning kill switch on then go an start it a while after its off it will start verry slugish also wanna add that after messing with throttle screw an throttle stop screw problem got worst but will not do it some times i did the idle relearn procedure but still doing it im lost but doesnt sound good at all thank yu honda tech so much
What year is the chassis and is the check engine light on? Have you done any recent work? Is the main relay clicking alot or just once when you turn the key on?
thank you for the reaponse an ok so its a 96 civic ex with a b16a swap 95 year of motor an no check light main relay is brand new it clicks instantly an primes fuel pump k heas were im confused when starting car its starts runs real rough almost stalling for literally 5-6 secs the idle smooths idle an idles normal it only happens when car is left for a day or wen very hot an also noticed if i press gas when its running rough it was stall i think its getting flooded or something this all started i belive after replacing throttle cable an adjusting idle screw thank yu again im trying to b as specific as i can this way yu can shoot some ideas
Is there a way you can borrow an ecu from a buddy just to rule that out. I had a similar issue and it was the resistors in the ecu the were actually taking out main relays in my case, but can cause other gremlins.
ok i think yu just found my problem i have a chipped p28 ecu in the car now witch has always ran rich but i have rev limiter an 2step goodies so i like it but the original ecu i had is p30 jdm so i noticed way b4 that the p30 will start the car rite up but the car has an idle surge with the p30 due to a burnt something mayb resister in it so i stoped using it an if i throw my p28 in it has the start up problem i switched back to p30 it starts rite up so should i just buy a stock p28 again since it must b the problem or can i fix an solder the 1 i have thank yu man
an 1 more thing i noticed a while back when they chipped my ecu the j1 jumper for the custom map does not have a resister its just a wire jumped over every1 else i see has a resister there could that also possible b the prob
