b16a has no vtec
I feel /hear no VTEC - b16a with no codes, I 've checked & cleaned the vtec solenoid & it works perfectly I was told that it has oil pressure. anything that I'm missing
temperature sensor has to read properly. I forget which one, but with no CE, it will (for instance) not hit VTEC until your car's warmed up a little bit in the morning. it may or may not be the same mechanism that cuts your rev at 7k when it's not warmed up (with oder pj0's...)
what ECU, as pyroproblem said?

do u have any watertemp gauge installed??? is ur radiator fan direct??? do u have a thermostat swtich?? check to see if its not completely open. get the temp to atlest quater.
which car do u have???? i think thats a VSS prob (if not temp/oilpressure issue) i use to happen to me my speedo was working but there was no speed signal comming out from speedo.
do u have a cable tranny or hydrulic one?

I'm not too sure about the water temp gauge, rad fan connection, & thermostat switch. The gauge does go up ay atleast a quater. the engine is in a 1991 civicI do have a cablt tranny. The instrument pane has been changed. I want to check the oil pressure bu myself. how do I do that? & what's VSS porblems?
Have you checked your oil?
If its full then check your vtec oil Psi, theres a 10MM bolt (head) right in front of the vtec solenoid on the head, you need a oilpsi gauge.
once the gauge is plugged in, turn the car on and send 12 volts to the solenoid, you should get a jump in oil psi...it should be around 30-40 psi...(if i can remeber correctly)
If theres no jump in oil psi then you have issues that need further diagnoses..

attach a mechnical oil pressure gauge on the back of the block replacing the orignal oil pressure swtich .... start the motor should aread around 20-30 si at idle warm temp.
do u have a cable type speedometer???? or there is a electrical wire comming out or ur tranny???? if its electrical then check ur connection to the B16 pin (if uare OBD0) that the VSS (vehical speed sensor) if this is not the case then there should be a cable running to ur intrument cluster which has two screw right below it thats the VSS check its connection.\
