Default b16 swap hatch, mad problems

aight fellas i bought a 92 vx hatch with a j-spec b16 in it. It drove fine for roughly 50 miles and no as soon as it gets to operating temperature, the temp gauge goes to full cold and the car boggs out and dies. I have a few theories but now all of my theories are out the window, because when you try to restart it, all of the lights are dim and nothing works no starter crank no nothing, like there is no voltage, but as it sits for longer after dying you can hear the starter trying to crank, it just still won't start until it sits for about an hour. Some one help me please
