Default b16 problems

Alright so i bought my si with the b16. 80k miles. just changed the oil with filter. Go for a 200 mile there and back drive and right when i come back home i hear a very loud ticking. Sounds like metal is flying around or bouncing. So with my car sitting there if goes on and off with the ticking, blows white smoke from the exhaust and rpms jump from 1k to 1.5k. The car will continue running. I checked the oil dipstick and it said there was none. I did an oil change like 2 weeks before this happened.
When listening to the engine the loud ticking/metal flying sounds likes its coming from the head. I pulled the valve cover off and looked at the valves quickly and noticed that there was alot of oil in the holes. Is that normal? I really hope someone will assure me its just the head instead of the pistons. Should i go ahead and remove the head to see if the pistons are messed up? Does anyone maybe suggest that its so low on oil that the valves are ticking hard and maybe i have to just put oil in? Someone please give me suggestions because i really cant afford a new b16. Thank you for reading!

what do you mean theres alot of oil in the holes?? you sure you tighten that oil drain plug when you did the oil change?? cause this is crazy that you changed your oil and 200 miles it makes a noise do you drive it hard??

do a valve adjustment to see if your within spec
check your compression to get a general idea of how your motor is doing
check your vaccum lines...sounds like you got an unconnected hose causing your crappy idle..
how much white smoke are we talking about? a little bit of smoke could be your valve seals but a lot of white smoke is your head gasket...which can also cause a crappy idle.
the point im really trying to get across is check all the small things before you go ripping your motor apart...

alright once i do my compression check and it ends up being fine, that means the ticking/knocking is coming from the valves right? maybe because there isnt much oil since it seems i have lost all my oil for some reason and the valves arent getting lubed? i mean if i did break a piston wouldnt that mean my engine wouldnt run...i can turn it on, itll knock, be quiet and then knock again

alright so i did a compression check, 210,215,210,215 so that means the block is good.
I then took off the valve cover and followed the tech article on valve adjustments. Did everything right except for i had a problem.
On piston 2, the intake side valves seemed to be locked up. I put it on the opposite of the TDC mark on the cams, loosen the nut and then play with the screw.
Even after screwing out both screws on the intake side valves all the way, the .006 feeler guage doesnt even start to slide in.
I actually screwed out the screws as far as they go and there is still no clearance. All other valves were done good. So i put it back together and still loud knocking. I put in oil, 93 gas, same problem. im guessing that knocking is coming from the locked up valves? please help me if i can fix it or i need a new head?

My guess would be the valve seals. That or head gasket? You're obviusly burning oil. Hope all goes well for u

im sure the valve seals wouldnt prevent the valve from clearance between the shaft and the valve. Something made two of the valves lock up

please someone help me...id like to get the car running again..
i was just reading in another thread about how a loud knocking means my bearings are toast and soon my block will be garbage....is this true. i did a compression check and it was 210-215 across the board. i will probaly post up a sound clip tomorrow for people to hear and maybe help me.
any ideas?

alright compression was 210-215-210-215
i did a valve adjustment but intake valves on piston 2 would not adjust..
drained my oil to find no metal shavings
pulling the engine out this week...a local honda mechanic said a machine shop can rebuild it....is this true? if so how long does the rebuild usually take, im guessing it needs new bearings since its knocking....

before you go and pay somone hundereds, if not $1000 plus to rebuild your motor, consider getting a long block from HMO, or someone else. it will prob be a similar price, and you could sell your current block, or keep it for parts
