Default B16 Head Problem...... PLEASE HELP.

Ok ppl.
I got this head practically given to me.
NOW the head was picked up today at the machine shop were they sandblasted it, did the valve seats, clean/resurface the bottom and did the best they could do(so they say.lol) to fix or try and make the head some what useful again. The problem was that one valve spring broke(don't really know how, maybe over rep, or spring too old last owner only knows.) so there was a little detonation in one of the cylinder causing some what of an on-even surface to one of the combustion(excuse me if that not the right term to use in this case) chamber on the head.

NOW THE BIG QUESTION IS WHAT DO YOU PPL THINK ABOUT THIS. COULD THIS HEAD BE USE WITH NO PROBLEM OR SHOULD IT JUST GET ANOTHER HEAD.
ALL OPINIONS WELCOME GOOD OR BAD, PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE SOMEWHAT CONFUSE. HERE ARE THE PICS(SORRY IF THEY ARE TO MANY, TRY TO GET EVERY ANGLE POSSIBLE.)

the valve seats are accuatally in perfect shape, so I know the valve are going to seal properly.
Do you think this may affect the compretion on that particular cylinder?
I need it for boost.

You're going to boost a repaired cylinder head? Have fun with that.
seriously tho, that head is fine for stock but you'd be an idiot to try to put any extra pressure on a damaged cylinder head, you're asking for problems IMO

What do you think it would happen.

You're planning on putting excess stress on an already warped piece of metal. Repaired or not it's still not as strong as it was when it was first made. And heads aren't so expensive that you can't find one to use to make sure that one doesn't blow.

That thing looks like an Thomas' English muffin with all of those nooks and crannies. I would worry about the strength loss associated with the nooks as well as the potential for those nooks to trap hot material that could lead to detonation. I have seen heads that are cloverleafed by welding more aluminum in those area to reduce the combestion shamber size. Realistically, just get another head.

I would use it..I would get a machined valvejob instead of a stoned in one if it were mine, but it will work either way with no issues. I would throw 40psi on that thing and not be scared!
