Not if its not from the same obd.

does the obd2 b16 directly bolt on the jdm second gen b16? i heard that you had to customize or chop something off to make the usdm distributors fit a jdm b16.

No, it will bolt right up. The thing you usually here people chopping is a leg off, and thats the dizzy from an integra to fit the b16a. Because no one stocks the obd0 dizzys for the first generation b16.

I'm not sure, but you might have to repin the plug.
Check them side by side to be sure colors and pinouts match.
And, something about the "crank fluctuation sensor", OBD1 doesn't have a pin for it.
But like I said check around first.
(EDIT) Just reread ALL the posts.
OBD1 and OBD2 dizzys ARE interchangeable with each other except maybe pinouts are different.
BUT OBD0 dizzy's ARE NOT interchangeable with OBD1 or OBD2!
there internal workings ARE different. They fire at different pulse rates.

Correct me if im wrong, but a second gen JDM B16 is OBD1. The 99 USDM B16 is OBD2. Yes the dizzy from the 99 US B16 will mount on the JDM B16 head, but the plugs are different.
And yes you are correct about the 5th gen EX/Si dizzy. But in
order to use the 5th gen dizzy, you have to ONLY SWAP THE INTERNALS thats all. Works fine for me

well, im going with a b18a rebuilt unit. why buy a used one from hmo, when the bearings might fail in a few months just like the one i have?! this kinda pisses me off, a motor with 50k miles having a bearing fall apart in the distributor! kinda shakes my previous complete faith in honda, cause i here that story from everybody (bearing in dizzy went out)
peace all
