Default B16 or B18?

i am currently looking into doing a motor swap in my 99 civic DX. Would you guys recomend a B16 or a B18 non-vtec (ls motor)? and what are the pro and cons of both? i know that the b18 has more torque.

The B18 makes more sense, but the B16 is more fun. There must be a million (getting close to a billion) posts asking this question.Do a search, hours (weeks) of reading.

READ THE STICKIES!!! They tell lots of info, and search tells more.

To put it simply...

B16 = high revs, no torque

B18 = torque, revs not as high (unless its an ITR motor)

I've had both, and I would never go back to a B16.

why don't you mate a b-18 with a b-16 hi revs and torque the best of both worlds

Big difference between B18a/b and a GSR (b18c).GSR swaps are 2 to 3 times the money but make half again more power.

your best bet is going with the b18 if you are lacking time .
