My buddy said that you can interchange the gears between B16 and B18c1 or c5 for whatever the occassion is. I told him that as long as you replace the mainshaft and countershaft with the right gears you can. This is a 99 hydro tranny by the way. He did something with it and now the casing doesnt slide right in. Unknown if he mix match the shift forks or gears. I told him that he screwed up somewhere. I have taken my tranny apart, but with ease and careful observation where things are suppose to be. Without seeing the gears, what is a typical error about gear swapping.
