hello fellow posters.

am currently doing a rebuild on my second gen B16 and problem is that there are no local parts available for it really. searched and found 124 results but not find any info.

my question is:

are B18A and B18B piston rings identical with B16 ones? can i use them with PR3 standard bore pistons? rings for the B18 are locally available w/ the nearest parts store that's why.

i'm assuming that they are so i cross checked the helms manual and haynes as well and everything is identical as far as gaps and clearances are concerned. but i still need to confirm from all of you helpfull techy guys if anyone has done so before.

yea as long as the pistons r 81mm ...all the rings r the same

 

ya, they're stock bore at 81mm.

anyone else have ideas or actual installs?

oh well, am gonna buy one set of rings by weekend so i'll see if all match up or not

 

B16,B17,B18a,b,c are all interchangeable.They are all dimensionally the same.
