B&M FP Gauge Problems... dont understand

B&M FP Gauge Problems... dont understand
I just got a B&M FP guage, and my problem is a bit wierd
when the gauge is fully tightened the car does not want to run (lack of gas) but then i loosen a some and it runs fine but it leaks gas. It seem like there is no happy medium. Anyone have this problem? or know a solution. Thanks!

I have installed plenty of theses gauges, never had that problem, always use teflon tape just for security. I know, gas usually eats through it, but it helps out.
