Axle Puller
I'm in the middle of replacing a left front axle for the first time (97 CL). I have successfully removed the hub nut and the lower ball joint from the LCA.
Now the axle is stuck in the hub. I've beaten it with a hammer and gently applied some heat. Tonight I am going to use an axle puller.
The question is: do I need to remove the brake rotor to use the axle puller? I'm worried about the rotor becoming distorted or even broken from the force of the puller.
Thanks!
Tim

never heard of (or needed..) an axle puller. a good soak in penetrating oil and a bigger hammer (since you're replacing it) should do the trick.
if you can do so without damaging the ABS or anything else prying between the hub and the face of the CV bell can loosen things up.
