Default autometer tach problem???

i have a bit of a weird problem, didnt know if anyone experienced the same problem. here goes. i have a 93 ex with a jdm b16a, running with a usdm p30 ecu. i bought and installed an autometer sport comp tach (the new ones with the 2 pulse electronics, only cut the one blue loop as per instructions for a 2 pulse), installed it all correctly (as far as im concerned, hooked up many of these in the past) after i installed, i want to make sure it was accurate so i reved it up to the 8200 rev limit, all good. 3 days later im driving and i go to do a little spirited driving and the limiter kicks in at 7600???? so then i hold the clutch in, and put it flat to the floor and the same thing, 7600 limiter hits?????????? i installed the green tach sensor wire to the blue tach signal wire on the drivers side strut tower, and everything is fine. i checked other rpms with the stock tach and its normal and equal valves the whole way thru the rpm range, so im not sure whats going on. ANY HELP PLEASE!!!! thank you

thats a tough one--the only thing I can think of is that maybe the autometer tach isn't accurate? I very much doubt it though. I had a problem once with an autometer tach--the needle was jumping around wildly and wouln't give a smooth reading, so I called autometer and they said it was a loose connection--sure enough one of the screws in the distributor (negative side) was loose giving an intermittent connection. I know your problem is different but I have found Autometer is very helpful when you call them and they know their product...

ya i called them a few times already, i had a bad tach once, this is the second one now, so i dont know what to do. i just dont get why it reads normal the entire rpm range then the red line is off?? but it was right on the day i installed it. i guess ill check the wires and redo them, then if that doesnt work ill call them
