Autometer Fuel Level Gauge - Wiring Issue
I have done search after search on this topic. I am trying to find out what kind of time, money, and effort I might spend in order to install an Autometer fuel level gauge in my race car. I am using the stock fuel tank and stock sending unit for now. I prefer to keep the stock fuel tank at this point. Are there any "kits" you can buy to make this work on a 93 EG hatchback? Stock cluster is out of the picture at this point.
I called Summit Racing and they have the units in stock. He said they would need to know the resistance readings in order to send the correct gauge/sending unit. Might anyone have this information?
Discussion please........
A service manual should have that information. Hopefully someone on here has one for your model and can check, although I'm sure they are all pretty much similar.
I tried the same thing, but, Autometer doesn't make an inexpensive gauge that will work with the factory sending unit. In order to install an aftermarket fuel gauge, you'll need one that learns the stock sending unit, like the autometer C2 series, or something similar.
I used a Dakota Digital fuel level gauge. It's programmable to read several different ranges of resistance for different makes of cars. It has an Import setting that has a range of resistance that falls within the Honda specs. I got it from Summit as well.
