Autometer Electric Oil Pressure Gauge always reading maximum
I just installed an autometer electric oil press gauge (where the stock oil press sender was located). I can turn on my gauges before the motor, and was surprized to see the gauge read the max (over 100). I figured maybe no press = infinity and started the motor. All was well except the oil press gauge didn't change a hint. It is reads max when its on.
To be sure it was not faulty wiring, i ran a wire from the sender under the car through the door directly into the back of the gauge. I got the same result.
Any advice/suggestions/opinions welcome. Thanks

Make sure that you have the correct wires going to the right terminal.
If you have constant 12v to the input terminal of the gauge you will see max oil pressure.
Also make sure the sending unit is propery grounded.
Make sure that no wires are crossed or touching, and that the sending unit is properly wired as well

I taped a wire to the body of the sender and then to a bolt on the block, but the gauge still reads 'max' when power is going to it.
