Default autometer air/fuel c2 gauge

ok, i'm sure just about everyone has heard enough about air/fuel gauges. especially from autometer. LOL! but i have a friend that is trying to install his. he has a prelude S. but he has the new autometer c2 gauge. and the c2 gauge has a white wire that needs to be connected to a 12v dash lighting. and that's something i don't understand. can anyone clearify that up for me? he needs me to hook it up for him, and i just have no clue how. has anyone hooked up a c2 gauge or a lunar series gauge? i'm still somewhat unsure how to wire up the purple wire to the o2 signal, but i'll figure it out i guess. lol thanks in advance

here is a pdf diagram of the hook up.

pull out the *** where you dim the switches etc. and pull the 12v off there, make sure you get the right one so its dims with the lights. you can screw up and it will be always on or it will act opposite how its supposed to.
good luck

There is also a wire in the radio harness that powers dash lights, I splice off that one..

Yes, there is one in the radio harness, one under the dash, you can even wrap the wire around one side the panel lights fuse, then put the fuse back in so that it holds the wire.

Make sure you hook it to the wire with constant voltage. If you hook it to the one that dims your guage light will go dim also.
