Automatic transmission slipping, hard shifter
Sup everyone. A while back i did a swap for a friend in his 95 auto ex, swapped out the stock motor(spun bearing) for a d15b v-attack. Needless to say it was tough cus i'd never worked with all the extra BS that an auto tranny brings into the mix. But anyway, when i got everything back together, i noticed that it was hard to shift the gears in the car, you could get from park to reverse, but it was hard to get to the drive gears. I dont know if i reinstalled something wrong, or screwed up the shift cable or something (i had a struggle tryin to figure out how to uninstall it), but he drove it like that for a while. Now probably about a month or 2 later, the trans slips i guess. Its like it has to rev up to around 5k he says before it starts goin, and he says really hard to get it into drive gear at all. I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is a problem with the trans itself, or maybe just something with the shifter and shifter cable. ANY thoughts on this subject are greatly appreciated as i know nothing about auto tranny's.
Also, I'm tryin to find him another auto trans if i need to get one, so anyone in the Chicagoland area that has an auto trans shoot me a pm. Thanks!
