Default automatic trannies

Just out of curiousity, why do most people don't support automatic ECUs. I mean, there are plenty of people who have them. But companies like Hondata or Uberdata don't help most automatics. Is it really difficult to reprogram them and have a decent setup with an auto? And who does if there are some people?

Don't be slugging me with the "your better off with a manual than that auto" (even though it's true), but was just curious.

Because when most people chip its for more power. Turbo, Nitrous, etc.

And doing that stuff doesnt hold up to Auto tranny's very well. Theres not that big of a calling.

yeah. honda autos don't stand up to much abuse. the accord autos are pretty good, but the rest tend to wear out extremely quickly once put under stress and HP levels 10-15% over stock. slippage begins, then things start heating up and going south very quickly.

so there's no way of strengthening auto trany clutches, torque conv., or anything huh? Wonder why they made auto GSRs in Japan then. Think they got stuff for those cars? Slim chance since it only lasted for 2 or 3 years, but still curious...
