Default Auto Meter Auto Gage 5" Tach Help

Anyone got this tachometer? well i bought it off a friend used and i didnt get any instructions on how to set the shift light any ideas on how to set it? i went the the autometer website and i got even more confused.

HERE is autometers install manual for that tach in .pdf form, the installation is simply wiring the power wires up. Depending on your model year most all the wires you'll need are already in the cluster harness...

im assuming you installed the tach. so, you just turn the key like your about to start the car, like the first click 'accesory mode', and turn the little **** where it says "shift set" im assuming thats what you were asking. if thats not what you meant, than i have no idea and its not my fault.. im a rookie.
