Default apexi vafc problem. need serious help and fast.

i just bought a 2000 civic si. it has a vafc. like a week ago i went to local shop to get it tuned because it was fukin goin crazy. so they charged me like 200 buck. and yesterday i bought my fog lights and in the instructions it said to disconnect the negative battery cable. i did. later wen i went and finished installing them my buddy came into the garage and hes like dude ur not suppose to disconnect battery stuff or ur fukin vafc will erase. so i went turned on the car and its does the same thing it was doin before i had tuned it. its doin funny noises between 2k and 4k rpm and my vtec is poppin in at various types of rpms. i dont feel like wasting another 200 bucks so this brings me to my question. can i disconnect the vafc with no problems like ecu problems and i just want my car to fukin run stock. i dont want the vafc anymore cause its pissed me off enough. so can i just disconnect it and run stock again or do i have to do a more complex step to disconect??? anwer me asap please.

Vafc has a memory this should not happen. Either your Vafc is gone or you touched some wires and fried something.
Just disconnect all the wires from the Vafc, only 1 wire was cut for map sensor so you just solder it back together.

Yeah something is def wrong with that afc.

I bought ont used from a guy and when i hooked it up to my car all of his settings were still in there.

The afc should not erase from disconnecting the battery

so i disconnected the vafc today and then i reseted the ecu. turned on the car for and left it at idle for like 16 minutes. and then its seemed to go fine. then i noticed it started smelling like crazy anti freeze. i revved a little and then the rpm was going up and down up and down up and down. so i just turned it off and now im scared **** less.
