Default Apexi V-AFC II - good for i/h/e?

What do you guys reckon?

I have a 2.5" spoon exhaust system and a 4-1 JDM header and custom CAI.
I got it base run and it produced 115.8 kw at the fly wheel. Im not planning to do much more internal work and I cannot afford Hondata.

Would the VAFC2 get me good gains and more power?
prehaps push it to 125kw?

Your information is valued...

Thanks

Well you can only get so much out of the motor with tuning, and while a piggyback system isn't the best option, it still is a viable one.

With that said, a good tuner can usually get you good gains over stock settings no matter what system you are using. And just last week I had my Prelude w/jdm h22a tuned using a VAFCII and I saw +13.4 whp and +5 ft/lb out of a moderate street tuning.

The engine also runs much smoother and there are no dips in the powerband.

There are better tuning options out there, but if you have no intentions of modding internals then a VAFCII should give you all the tuning you need. However you could always look into Crome or Uberdata for tuning. The benefits of Hondata without the pricetag attached...

Phat_Jax,
Thanks for your opinion.

Yeah the garage where my car will be tuned is a reputable one. He owns a 8sec EVO3 and has tuned R34s etc.. So im guessing that a small civic shouldnt be too tricky.

Im quite new at tuning and havent heard much of Crome or Uberdata - and I am quite fussy so I would most likely to steer away from those kinds of things.

I think VAFCII will be good for my setup and hopefully should get more power, afterall I dont intend to modify any internals.

Once again, thanks for your opinion!!
