Apex'i N1 Sound
Hey guys, just needed a general opinion on the sound of the N1 exhaust muffler. I'm thinking about building a custom exhaust for my 86 MR2 (N/A) and I was checking out the N1 but need to know how loud it is compared to others and also does the silencer make a BIG difference? I'm looking for a reasonably quiet exhaust, and if the N1 is very loud, please make suggestions. Since it's an MR2 the piping will only be about 5 feet long at most, so i'm thinking about throwing a resonator in the middle somewhere. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Pic for reference: (Unknown exhaust, but I wouldn't have the bend around to the left and back, just back from the header and bend towards the passenger side like an angled N1 catback)

The N1 is loud. If you want any kind of quiet exhaust, I would look toward either another apex'i system (forget which one is quiet) or RS*R. I read apexi's new silencer actually increased horsepower over the strait through N1. That gain will vary from setup to setup, but I don't see the purpose in muting a loud exhaust if you want it quiet all the time. If that's the case, I would simply go with a quiter setup.
get the n1 if you like the style, you can ALWAYS adjsut sound by adding a resonator to it. I had a magnaflow custom setup in my civic with an h22 and it sounded like ****, way too loud, raspy. So i looked for a solution, a 22" Resonator. It has a nice clean crisp exhaust tone, and its quiet in the car (even under accel/wot). All piping is 2.5"
EDIT:
You can also see that the guy running that n1 also has an additional muffler in there.
