P0135 (Heater circuit Malfunction) primary O2 (help)
Ok heres the problem code p0135 (heater circuit malfunction) primary o2
------------------
<U>I have read all the results I found in the search and still no luck</U>
Lat week my car broke down and came to find out the pigtail extension for my o2 sensor melted and must have touched wires and caused fuse 15 to blow and cause all kinds of havoc ---
I have tried a new 4 wire denso and 2 brand new universal boschs and still keep getting this damn code that wont go away which in turn is making my car run rich as hell -- after 3 days of messing with this i drove to the junkyard and tried 2 ecus and still had the problem so i am assuming its not ecu related - so being pretty tired of this I said screw it and took it to the damn dealer (85$ later) and 2 hours they come to me and say its something with the extension for the o2 sensor or the plug itself - they said they took a brand new oem sensor and plugged it in and no check engine light then plugged mine back in and bam check engine light again so I went home got a brand new 4 wire plug wired in the bosch sensor hooked it up and bam still got the damn check engine light - the same with the denso o2 -- So I just cant see all of a sudden that the only frickin sensor that will work will be the oem 1 all of a sudden after using the bosch uni for like a year now
I measured the 2 O2's at 17ohms for the denso and 12.2 for the bosch
Any info that may help me figure this out or lead me in the right direction would be as helpful as it can be for diagnosing auto problems on a forum

This extension harness - does it have connectors on both ends or did you hack the main harness and soldered/crimped this extension harness onto it? If this extension harness has two connectors and the dealer didn't bother using it when they tried their O2 sensor and got no code, but you haven't bothered to try the same, then maybe it is your extension harness.
But if the harness is crimped/soldered into the main harness and the dealer is saying they hooked up their O2 and got no code...I dunno how truthful that might have been seems as how the O2's you're trying have the correct heater resistance and you've tried two junkyard ECU's on top of that.
So...what's the deal with the extension harness?

The stock plug is still in the harness I just extended the o2 side of the plug 2 make the wires longer
The extension I added was from the oem o2 plug the old sensor went bad so I bought a uni bosch sensor and extended the oem 02 sensor plug wires to the spot on my new downpipe which has the o2 closer to the turbo - so the dealer said well we unplugged my rigged uo harness with oem plug on it and plugged in a brand new Oem o2 sensor into the cars harness and no code so i went home got a brand new denso o2 and did not extend it i just plugged it in like they did and still have the code so either Im thinkin the dealer is full of **** or I just had 2 brand new bosch sensors and 1 brand new denso sensor that cam bad out of the box - and all of a sudden I must have forgot how to run 4 - 3 ft pieces of wire and connect them properly
Well since I did pay the dealer I called them being as nice as possible and asked if its possible if I bring the car by the dealer in the morning can they have the tech who looked at the car put it back on the lift and show me exactly what hes doing to make it work since I cant seem to get it to work and just to show me because they say with there o2 that engine light goes right out so I guess Ill see tomm morning

checked the engine side of the harness where the o2 plugs in and turned ignition to on and got like 0.03 for a volt reading I dont think thats normal for the heater side shouldnt it have 12v+ ?

Dealer didn't help you out? I don't know where to steer you - you already have a supposed diagnosis but you just can't replicate their findings. So far, all signs point to you and your batch of O2 sensors. Yeah, 3 in a row - I hear ya'. Then ask to buy the dealer's magical golden O2 that doesn't produce it.

At the vehicle harness side of the sensor measure the voltage across the 2 heater terminals with the ignition on. You should have 12 volts.
If you have no voltage or not a full 12 something is wrong on the vehicle side.
If you have 12 volts then something is wrong sensor side... try another sensor.

One of the wires should have 12v. Have you checked the #15 fuse in the under dash fuse box?

yea fuse 15 originally blew things went all crazy replaced it and its all good - I think I wasnt makin a good connection when checking the harness just rechecked using a diff meter and actually checking the correct pins and I get 12 volts at the harness which now makes no sense why Im getting the heater circuit malfunction after having tried 3 diff o2 sensors and diff ecu's im just totally lost now as to why this code wont go away

Ok, you have 12v going to the o2 heater. Now is the ecu switching the other wire with a good ground signal?
