anyone know how to rebuild an A/C compressor?
just like it says? can they be rebuilt?
mine is dirty inside, and i know it works. its been sitting in the shed for about 2 years uncovered. i know it works, i just dont wanna put it on and then it seize up or break cuz of some dirt in there..
i would like to take it apart and clean it thoroughly. any advice? or just go at it?

I'm an hvac service tech.
I do light industrial and commercial ac.
I don't do cars because i don't have an ac in my hatch, but i know about compressor rebuilds.
How much is a new compressor?
Take your compressor to an ac shop and see what they say.
I'd get a new compressor if i was you. I imagine the system has been exposed to the elements for the last two years. familiarize yourself with the piping and flush out flush the system with nitrogen (do not use oxygen, at 5 lb of pressure it can explode).
If you do decide to attempt this make sure there's refrigerant oil in the system (not motor oil). Your compressor relies on refrigerant and oil to keep it cool. If your short on one of these expect problems.
Get a new receiver/drier. Recharge system.
i'd also monitor that drier and plan on changing it a few times because that's where most of the garbage in the system will end up. Eventually it will be clean
im me if you got ?'s
