Default Anyone have experience with a PR3 chipped w/ Mugen program?

I'm thinking about getting my ECU chipped, and want to know if anyone has any experience with the Mugen program on their B16a engine? Right now here is my list of mods, and I want to know how much it's going to help:

CAI
DC Sports 4-2-1 Ceramic Coated Headers
2.25" Cat-Back Exhaust
Test Pipe
OBX Bomb Tunable
OBX 10.3mm Spark Wires

That's it as far as engine mods. Going N/A except for maybe a 40/50 wet shot of N2o in a couple of weeks. Anyone?

i have one with vtec x-over changed to 5k - don't do that it is too high with s1 tranny. i think it good ecu but work better with higher compression like CTR pistons, etc....

What kind of engine are you running? My VTEC comes in at 5k on the stock ECU...
(I have the S1 also)

Basically the Mugen N1 box is programmed for a motor that runs 13:1 CR, nasty cams and ITB's.

I believe he's referring to the 88-91 PR3 (nobd) mugen program which Hondata isn't talking about on the page you've just linked. Also, the NOBD & OBD1 mugen programs differ.

i run mine in a b16a with 11.5:1 compression and itr cams and i have a "power dip" in the 4400-5000 rpm range. but i do like it overall and enough to take a 2570 + pound civic (EF) to a 13.98 @99.41 w/ slicks so ok with rest of combo.plus launch at 8k and you don't dip down too often...

mileage a little worse which is on the negative side but you gotta give up something...

also..
i find it funny how it seems, Hondata is bashing the obd-1 mugen program (at least that's the impression I'm getting). Yet this specific program IS a power making program. Dyno proven from 5-8hp....and even more on a turbo-charged engine. I ran this program way before Hondata made their grand apperance here in the US before 1999 too.

Wish they dyno plots to prove their point with this program. This Mugen program works well on dohc vtec 1.6-B20/vtec setups, High compression or medium-to-stock compression.

As long as you have dyno tuning time, adjustable cam sprockets, maybe even an FPR, a vtec/fuel controller all with running this program, you can fully optimize the power made with this ecu program.
