I have a b16 in my del sol
with an itr 3" CAI, dc jdm 4-1 2.5" collector header, 2.5" carsounds cat, and 2 3/8" inch exhaust(greddy evo)

and boy, does it sound like crap
ah well
at leats its quick
and should be even better when i get my cams
but i mean jeez
sounds like crap

 

How do you know it's the header?

 

becaue it sounded fine before the header was installed
4-1's have a bad habit of sounding nasty!

i ran a DC 4-1 in my car for a while and i didnt like the sounds but performance was great.

 

you might have an exhaust leak. my jdm 4-1 header dosent sound like anything at all.

 

what kind of sound are you talking about? i've run the same header for about 10 months now and i don't hear anything out of the norm?

It might be the thin metal of the DC header, maybe you should try a different header. Some/ most headers use different metal which will make different sounds. If you can... try a Honda JDM 4-1, bet you will like the sound.

 

may be you have an exhaust leak.. when i had my 4-1 header, it sounded great.. did u remember to put in the Oring gasket? kinda like a donut shape peice that goes between the header and the cat? when i first installed it, i left mine on my stock header and forgot about it..
