is there a resistor missing to the left of the chip socket? other than that every thing looks ok

No theres a capacitor that goes into C52 to the left of the socket-
This chip set is different then the phearable one below though- There is no R54 location, so i left it blank after being recomended to by phearable-

It sounds silly, but make sure your chip sits snugly in your ZIF socket, and the socket fits snugly into the ECU. I had this problem a few times, turns out my chip would actually start to slip itself out of the socket and the instant one pin left contact, limp mode and a solid CEL.

Double check all your connections, and plugs coming from the chassis wiring harness into the ECU.

Thanks Dave- The car ran good no CEL before, but then after chipping this problem occured- I went through all connections and still had this issue. So then I took out J1, to see if it would work again like normal, and still had the solid CEL-- So what possibly could have happend? I did a clean job on this one, and didnt burn the board or at least that I could possibly tell...

Could it be that I at first sucked out the solder out of R54? Does their need to be solder in the blank holes for it to work properly? Thanks guys-

Hmmm ... it's an ECU issue, I can say that much. Check to see if your fuel pump is turning on - if it isn't, there's a resistor in backwards. My buddy chips ECUs, and this happens every now and again. Double-check the direction of all your resistors, and it should work.

The car will start, but it just runs like hell-
I dont think its the chip however, as ive burnt and tried many different ones--
I have reason to believe its the ECU because after cutting J1 it still ran like hell-

turns out the Q31 is blown--
I know this is bc of switching out wiring harness plugs, but could it be related to chipping the ecu??
