any one want to help me out?
hey i'm new to the honda thing but i have a 1991 civic its obd1..i want to drop a b18 or a b16 in but i wanted to know if the obd is different how do u convert it over or most b16 b18 obd1..i just worryed about a the wiring lol and good places to buy complete swaps..or just get me in the right way and i can finish thanks for the help
well, as far as i know, the obd depends on the year of engine.. for example, a late model b18 or b16 would be obd2... i suggest going obd1 since its easier to tune...u can always get an obd2 swap and get the obd2-obd1 jumper harness then run a chipped p28 or hondata ecu...this way u will set the vtec and redline...and cel wont go off... there are infinite places to buy swaps...just do ur research right..i got my b16 from ylm motors...
get whatever motor you want and can get ahold of. you will not need an obd2 to obd1 ecu jumper as your car is not obd2. If you want to make your car and motor obd1, which will make everything easier from wiring to tuning etc., you will need an obd0 to obd1 ecu jumper harness. Depending on which motor you go with, the wiring will be slightly different due to some having vtec and others do not. Whatever route you go, the wiring is very simple.
