There is a really light putting sound coming from my engine. My steering wheel shakes in sync with the putting. When I hold throttle at an idle, it it putts harder like miss fire. Buy the way I have a B16a swaped into a 90 hatch. could it be a bad Rotor button in the distributer. it is a new cap, new ngk plugs and spark plugs. what do you guys think?
any help would be appreciated

a putting sound is normally associated with an exhaust leak. does the car run ok? does it miss at all?

 

I only have bolts where my cat is instead of the spring loaded ones, they might be loosening. could leak at the cat cause putting.

Other than that the sound comes from the head block area, the car still pulls good and does not feel different, just annoying sound.

any ideas?

 

Mine does the same thing...

It seems to miss a little bit, but not very noticable.

When just staying a constant speed, it seems like the engine kicks in and out. Not really bad...it like kicks a little and drops a little then kicks a little then drops a little.

I get the little putt putts coming when I let off the gas. I will check my pipes this weekend.

is it worse in the rain.............i had something similar with mine....my wire was broken where the terminal meets the wire.....not noticible witout a volt meter and an knife....

 

not sure, I don't drive it much in the rain.
