I have an 89 Crx Dx - put in an 88 d15b2 (same except 88 was auto, 89 was 5 speed). Everything checks well, no codes, replaced plugs, wires, Eavc etc. Fuel filter, pump etc are 89 (which ran perfect but threw timing belt).
Anyway, I've got a fluctuation in the revs when I try to keep a steady speed. It's anywhere from 500 rpms to over 1,000! Get the jerk effect like it's cutting off fuel. Last night I drove it 2 mile, got the 500rpm glitch etc. Parked it for 45 minutes then, when I pulled out onto the hwy it died! Rpms went to 0, then 5 seconds later got oil light & battery light NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT! - Started right up, went 5 blocks, same thing-died! did this 6 times in 2 miles. Any clue what the problem is?
ECU checks ok. In the process of changing the rest of the sensors over etc. Maybe clogged Cat? Help please?
