Default alternator swap

in trying to figure out my idle issue, i may try swapping alternators. i have a brand new obd0 alt from my old DA and i am going to try and mate it with my obd2 DC. even if i get it to work, isnt the amperage less on those alternators? will that affect performance?

An alternator shouldn't affect idle. Your old alternator should be putting out only ish 45 amps whereas the new one should be somewhere around 115. I don't think that's a very good idea. Just my input.

i didnt think it would be.
the problem is my electrical load. whenever my fans kick on my idle will drop significantly, sometimes even making me stall.
im trying to sort out my options one part at a time.
